09 Aug was the 56th day of Relay Hunger Strike, 39 Ex-servicemen (including six veernaris, one of them wife of Shourya Chakra winner) sat on RHS at JM. Ex-servicemen had come from ETTA UP and Nabha Punjab of Seva Punjab. ESM from 14 states have so for participated in RHS. Simultaneous to RHS at JM the Ambala city of UFESM has also continuosly carried on with RHS there. This is in addition to NEXCC protest marches in all districts of Kerala, Rally's at Bengaluru, Chennai and a big rally at Rohtak where Anna Hazareji conveyed his full support to the cause of OROP.

Officers were accompanied with lady wives. All visiting officers were univocal in supporting the agitation and RHS for OROP. Every one vowed that this agitation will be supported by all Ex- servicemen of all ranks and will not be stopped till Government approves OROP as per approved definition. Hav Major Singh sat on RHS for the 56th day, Col Pushpinder Singh sat on RHS for the 14th day and Dfr Harjinder Singh Khera sat on RHS for the 11th day. This was the fifth jatha from Seva Punjab.
These officers have contributed with open heart for the agitation and vowed that they will be ready to contribute more funds as and when required to sustain the agitation.
All courses expressed full confidence in the leadership of the agitation and expressed full confidence that team leading the agitation is doing a very good. Everyone was full of appreciation for the team for keeping high morale of ESM. RHS platform was declared as Sainik Parliament. All decisions taken by the majority at the Sainik Parliament will be communicated to the ESM family for implementation. The Following decisions were taken today. All ESM will assemble in large numbers at JM on 15 Aug 2015 to show solidarity with ESM on RHS and agitation for OROP.
In case The Government does not announce OROP on Independence day 15 Aug 2015, then All ESM and their families will observe one day token hunger strike on 15 Aug 2015 at home in honour of ESM on RHS on completion of 62 days of hunger strike.
RHS will be broken on 16 Aug 2015 and agitation will enter phase III. Steps will be takenin order to intensify the agitation. Phase III will be announced on 16 Aug 2015 morning.
15 Aug 2015 will be termed as black day in the history of Independent India.
In case The Government announces OROP on 15 Aug 2015, then RHS will be broken on 62nd day of hunger strike. ESM on RHS will be offered a glass of juice and will be honoured for sustaining the hunger strike for 62 days.
Sainik Parliament will pass a vote of thanks to Government for approving OROP.
This will be beginning of restoration of status of Armed Forces to old glory of pre 1973.
A grand lunch will be served in honour of ESM who observed RHS for 62 days and to celebrate approval of OROP.

Col Inderjeet Singh has been visiting JM every day, despite his poor health, to cheer up the ESM on hunger strike. His visit is great morale booster for the ESM observing RHS.

Social activist and former soldier Anna Hazare today exhorted ex-servicemen and farmers to be ready for a “jail bharo” campaign to get their concerns addressed. Addressing a rally of ex-servicemen here, he said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was merely making speeches on various issues. He announced a countrywide drive to press for the implementation of one-rank, one-pension (OROP) regime and a farmer-friendly land-acquisition policy. “After this demonstration in Haryana, I will hold rallies in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu and finally launch a concerted agitation to press for the implementation of these demands in New Delhi from October 2,” he said. Braving intermittent showers, thousands of ex-servicemen attended the rally organised by the Haryana Ex-Services League (HESL) under the aegis of the United Front of Ex-Servicemen. They raised slogans such as “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”, “Vande Matram”, “Inquilab Zindabad” and “Anna Hazare Zindabad”, assuring the 78-year-old leader of their wholehearted support. Hazare warned the Union Government that the people’s parliament was bigger and stronger than elected Parliament and people could teach parliamentarians a lesson if they failed to work properly in the larger interest. He, however, exhorted the rallyists to refrain from adopting violent or destructive modes of protest.
He advised them to adopt “Gandhigiri”. He asked them to assemble in front of the residences of MPs and sing bhajans like “Ishwar-Allah tere naam, sabko sanmati de Bhagwan” till they were taken away (by the police) and lodged in the jail.
“The Prime Minister sought support of the ex-servicemen, farmers and other sections of society and promised to address their concerns on coming to power. However, his government has failed to keep the promises although more than a year has passed since its installation. Even I was hopeful of some change, but the Prime Minister has only delivered speeches and given assurances so far,” he said. The social activist said the PM had also promised to end corruption, bring back black money stashed in foreign lands and give each resident of the country Rs 15 lakh. But all those promises remain unfulfilled and the assurance of bringing “achhe din” still seemed to be a distant dream. He also expressed concern at Parliament remaining non-functional for several days at a stretch and exhorted people to seek explanation from their elected representatives.
Hooda to lead Cong campaign on OROP On 14 August at Gurgaon

Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda will lead Congress’ campaign in the state to press for implementation of One Rank, One Pension (OROP) scheme for ex-servicemen. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP will be the focus of attack during the agitation. Congress’ plan to up the ante on the issue in Haryana; this is a strategic move to embarrass the BJP. Modi (as BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate) had promised implementation of the scheme at an ex-servicemen rally held in Rewari during the 2014-General Elections campaign. Hooda will sit on dharna on August 14, the eve of Independence Day, at the ‘Saheed Samarak’ in Gurgaon along with senior leaders of his party. Prof Virender Singh, Political Advisor to Hooda when the latter was Chief Minister, disclosed this recently. “Hooda will sit on dharna to press for implementation of OROP in the shape as was finalised during the UPA-II tenure. The BJP led NDA government is not only delaying its implementation, but also wanting to whittle down the scheme,” Singh said. “The BJP had promised to implement the scheme during the Lok Sabha and the subsequent Assembly elections in the state. Now it is resorting to dilatory tactics after taking electoral support of ex-servicemen,” he said. The scheme was finalised by the UPA after years of deliberation and brainstorming in the country on the issue. The Congress has found the OROP as a potent handle against the saffron party, especially in Haryana, after its agitation on issues relating to farmers and the land acquisition bill. A senior party leader said that every tenth personnel are from Haryana and form a good chunk of the demography. The party leaders say that the issue was very important from the state’s perspective. This is the reason why Modi had chosen Rewari to promise its implementation after BJP came to power. Representatives of ex-servicemen had reportedly met Hooda recently and urged him to stand up for their cause. The Congress leaders say that the agitation will be followed up with raising the issue on a public forum and the Haryana Assembly.
